Marc Gromis, Esq. - Attorney at Law
Mr. Gromis has been an attorney for more than thirty years, primarily serving as a federal prosecutor in Buffalo, New York with the United States Department of Justice.
After graduating at the very top of his class at St. John’s University School of Law in 1983, Mr. Gromis accepted a position as a confidential law clerk to U.S. District Judge John T. Elfvin in the Western District of New York.
Thereafter, Mr. Gromis worked as a litigation associate with Steptoe and Johnson in Washington D. C. before joining the Department of Justice in Buffalo. He served as the Chief of the White Collar and General Crime Division and prosecuted hundreds of fraud cases.
From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Gromis was an owner of Buffalo Hemp Outfitters, in Buffalo, NY; a retail business dedicated to educating the pubic about the benefits of using industrial hemp as an eco-friendly source of fiber, fuel, cosmetics and food.
From Spring 2011 to Spring 2015, Mr. Gromis served as an Adjunct Professor, School of Law, State University of NY at Buffalo; teaching a course on White Collar Crime.
Mr. Gromis’ law firm specializes in cannabis law. Since 2015, Mr. Gromis has been involved in providing legal advice to cannabis businesses and to potential cannabis business owners under New York’s law and regulations. He was involved in the application process for a medical cannabis license, has given legal advice to businesses seeking to challenge New York’s selection process for licenses, and has given guidance to businesses and individuals about New York’s medical cannabis laws and regulations, and the expected legalization of cannabis in New York.
